10PM Thursday Night Out w/ Junior Varsity & Chet Watkins
11PM Magnet Inspirado – The Magnet Theater’s long form improv comedy competition. Chet Watkins goes up against 5x champions BRICK. Brick must lose, Brick WILL lose.
It’s official. Chet Watkins’s has been selected to perform in the 13th Annual Del Close Marathon hosted by the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre here in NYC. Our performance will come at the end of the festival (you will likely be tired and hung over from watching more than 24+ hrs of shows) on Sunday August 14th at 7:15PM at Urban Stages Theater. Mark your calendars now – August is kind of right around the corner… kind of!
Also, do not forget… show tomorrow at 9pm!
This week we are kicking off Audience Appreciation Month in style. We will have free beers, prizes, a 50/50 draw. Aaaaaand!! You, our amazing audience, will pick the two forms we will perform. We can’t wait to see your smiling faces!
Tonight at 9pm, a lucky audience member will be chosen out of the Chet Watkins audience for a free therapy session! We know what we are doing, we might as well be licensed for goodness sakes. We here at Chet Watkins are excited to announce that we have been selected to perform at the prestigious Chicago Improv Festival.
This years CIF will take place from Monday April 25th to Sunday May 1st and feature 90 different shows from 8 nations and 32 cities. Chet Watkins will be performing on Friday Night (April 29th) with details about time and location pending. Look us up if you are in the area that week.
The Chicago Improv Festival (CIF) was co-founded by Frances Callier and Jonathan Pitts in 1998 as an educational forum. The festival teaches the art of improv, the history of and the potential for innovation within the art form to students of the craft, professional improv artists and the public. While other improv festivals exist around the world, several in the United States, the Chicago Improv Festival is the only festival that has been created solely for the purposes of documenting, promoting and teaching improv as an art form. The founding of the organization in Chicago, Illinois itself speaks to the organization’s commitment to the legacy of improv and promoting that legacy to others. (CIF – Improv Wiki)

Two shows this week? Yes two shows this week. If you are unavailable on Friday but still want to get your fix than you can come see us on Thursday evening. So let’s break it down.

Stand Up NY – 236 W.76th St (B’way)
$8 cover / 2 drink minimum. If you are a student of improv at any improv theater in NYC you will get in for free. Oh and this is a competition, so vote for us because you will think we are the funniest.
